My name is Tom Crippen and I have completed a 3 year small animal diagnostic imaging certificate with the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA).

With over 20 years of experience as a veterinary surgeon, I’ve worked across a wide range of practices—both as a locum and permanent team member—from busy multi-vet hospitals to single-vet clinics. This has given me broad exposure to many types of cases and working environments, and a deep understanding of the realities of first-opinion practice.

I have a particular passion for ultrasound, having seen time and again how a clear, accurate scan can help guide critical decisions—whether for internal medicine, surgery, or emergency care. I’ve worked up complex cases to a high level, often combining imaging findings with practical, forward-thinking medical or surgical plans.

My approach is pragmatic, collaborative, and grounded in real-world clinical decision-making. I believe in using ultrasound not just as a diagnostic tool, but as a way to help you move cases forward with clarity and confidence.
